Acme Farm Apiary
I recently spent a Saturday with Dan Schmidt, owner of Acme Farm Apiary, as he inspected his hives. As a first year beekeeper myself, I really enjoyed watching Dan handle the bees, while learning some new techniques and seeing the hives in various states of development. Check out the Apiary's website here: https://www.facebook.com/acmefarmapiary
Experiments with a NO. 2 Brownie
A few years ago, my brother gave me a NO. 2 Brownie Model D camera (I believe this model is circa 1917) that he purchased at an antique store. It sat proudly on display in my various apartments, and remained a curiosity and relic to me. A few weeks ago, however, I took it down from the shelf, cleaned and inspected it. Using an original manual I found online, I discovered that all the parts were still present and functioning. I loaded it with 120 film and took it out for a try at a classic car show at Lasser Park in Salisbury Mills, not knowing what to expect. It worked perfectly! I still need a little practice composing through the small, rectangular viewfinder, but I can't wait to take it out again! Here are the unedited, scanned negatives:
